Daily Maintenance & Inspection of Control Arm
Special attention should be paid to signs such as ball joint wear and bushing aging. Abnormal vibration or steering wheel shaking may be precursors of control arm damage. It is recommended to inspect the chassis every 20,000 to 30,000 kilometers to avoid long-term bumpy sections and replace worn parts in a timely manner to ensure driving safety.
How Often Should the Control Arm Be Replaced?
There is no fixed replacement time for the control arm, as it is affected by a number of factors, including the vehicle's conditions of use, driving style, road conditions, the material quality and so on. In general, the control arm needs to be replaced in the following cases:
First is about mileage. It is usually recommended to check the condition of the control arm after driving 100,000 to 150,000 kilometers and replace it as needed. However, this is only a rough guide, and actually it depends on a specific vehicle and usage conditions.
Second is about some visible damages. If there is visible damage to the control arm, such as cracks, deformation or corrosion, replace the control arm immediately. These damages can result in suspension failure, erratic steering, or reduced vehicle control, increasing the risk of driving.
Nextly, if the connection bolt on the control arm is loose or worn, it can cause instability of the suspension system and loss of steering. In this case, it is recommended to replace the control arm immediately.
In short, the replacement time of the control arm needs to be determined according to the specific situation of the vehicle.
